Armstrong has been a leader in the telecommunications industry for over 60 years. Throughout that time, Armstrong has kept pace with the ever-changing world of technology. The company known as "Armstrong" began life in 1946 as Armstrong County Line Construction, headquartered in Kittanning, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. Founded by Jud L. Sedwick, the company initially specialized in telephone and power line construction and acted as a contractor to local utility companies. Quality construction remains a cornerstone of our operations today.

From this strong background, Armstrong became more involved with the day-to-day operations of telephone systems. In 1957, Armstrong purchased the Ritchie Telephone Company of Harrisville, West Virginia. Today, Armstrong owns, operates and maintains independent telephone companies in Rising Sun, Maryland; Addison, New York; Murdocksville and Duke Center, Pennsylvania and Hamlin and Harrisville, West Virginia. In the 1960s Armstrong expanded into the cable television industry and in the 1980s into the security, restaurant, and real estate development industries.

Six decades old, the Armstrong Group employs over 2,000 people across the nation and is an industry leader in many of their fields of endeavor. Headquartered in Butler, Pennsylvania, Armstrong remains a family owned and operated business. The company continues to value strong relationships with its employees and close ties to the communities it serves.
